The GameCube version of Resident Evil 3 is almost a direct port of the original PlayStation 1 game. It was released in 2003, about four years after the PlayStation 1 release and at first glance does not appear to offer any real enhancements from the original. Therefore, it did not review particularly highly, and sale volumes were low, which is not surprising as it sold at full price when a budget price would have made more sense.
All this has resulted in it becoming collectible in today’s retro gaming market. It wasn’t a complete port of the PlayStation 1 game though, as it contained improved visuals, character models and textures but not much else. I picked this up many years ago at a Gamestation for £10, however prices on ebay tend to be between £40 and £60 depending on condition, but still worth purchasing if you are an avid Resident Evil collector.
