Metal Gear Solid – Memory Card

Posted in Playstation 1 on January 30, 2015 by drewturpin

This is a silver “Metal Gear Solid” branded Playstation 1 memory card, and was a pre-order bonus for anyone who bought the game from Woolworths.

The card, produced by Joytech, and comes in a CD style case with front and back insert.

This is not particular rare as about 25,000 were produced, however expect to pay up to £10 for the card alone and up to £20 if you can find one in its own case.

I bought this off ebay for £10, which is pretty good considering the condition it is in.

Manic Miner

Posted in Commodore Amiga on January 23, 2015 by drewturpin

The classic Manic Miner for the Commodore Amiga in 3½ inch disc format. The Amiga release contains a fairly accurate port of the original ZX Spectrum version. It also had an enhanced edition with more colour, bigger sprites and scrolling screens so as to make use of the more powerful 16 bit computer.

The scrolling screen was not to everyone’s liking, especially if you have already played Matthew Smith’s original single screen classic. However at least you had the original port included on the disk, so effectively having the best of both worlds. This game does appear relatively frequently on ebay, but expect to pay in the region of about £10 to secure one.

Paper Mario – The Thousand Year Door

Posted in GameCube on January 16, 2015 by drewturpin

Paper Mario –The Thousand Year Door is the second game in the Paper Mario series, which was released exclusively on the Gamecube back in 2004.

Paper Mario (1)

It has become highly collectable, due to both its links to Mario and being a pretty decent RPG that was reviewed rather highly. If you are looking to get your hands on a complete copy in good condition, then expect to pay between £30 and £40 of ebay.

Here we have a sealed copy of the classic Resident Evil 4, however this is the re-released version from 2010.

Resident Evil 4 Sealed

As this release is fairly recent it should be relatively easy to find on ebay, and can be picked up for around £10.
